The Medium is a single removable, 135 track per inch (tpi), high-density diskette with 1.44MB unformatted capacity. Data is written on both sides of the diskette using the Modified Frequency Modulation (MFM) double density, or Frequency Modulation (FM) single density encoding schemes.

The TMG-8088 is designed to support any standard Gould/SEL/Encore floppy controller installed. The TMG-8088 is configured in a standard 19" rack mount or desktop case and is capable of providing both dual 3.5" floppy units as well as a "mix and match" capability of 3.5" and 5.25" units. Additional options for 3.5"/5.25" combination units are available if required.
